Tung Chung site tenders rejected

The Lands Department announced today that all four tenders received for the sale of a residential site in Tung Chung were rejected as their tendered premiums did not meet the Government's reserve price for the site.

 

The department pointed out that sites in the Government's Land Sale Programme are disposed of in the open market under the established mechanism.

 

Located at Town Lot No. 55 at Area 106B, the site occupies about 10,648 sq m and is designated for private residential purposes.

 

The site’s minimum and maximum gross floor areas are 22,361 sq m and 37,268 sq m.

 

The reserve price is set on the day of tender closure so that the latest market conditions are taken into account.

 

To protect public revenue, the Government will not sell a site if no bid reaches the reserve price as assessed by its professional valuers.

 

The Government will closely monitor the market situation and relaunch the land for disposal at an appropriate time.

 

Noting that a sustained and steady land supply is its overall policy goal and such a goal should not be affected by short-term market fluctuations, the Government said it will continue to adopt a multipronged approach to ensure a steady supply of private housing land.

HK fencers score medals

Hong Kong fencers Vivian Kong and Low Ho-tin each won a medal at the 2023 Asian Fencing Championships.   While Kong won a gold medal in the Women's Épée Individual event, Low bagged a bronze one in the Men's Sabre Individual event.   Congratulating the athletes today, Secretary for Culture, Sports & Tourism Kevin Yeung said: “It is the third time Vivian Kong won gold at the Asian Fencing Championships, while Low Ho-tin’s triumph makes it the second time for the Hong Kong team to reap a medal in the event since 2014.   “We are very encouraged by their performances and proud of Hong Kong fencers for their repeated success at international competitions." http://dlvr.it/SqrWTd

23 building plans approved in Jan

The Buildings Department approved 23 building plans in January - four on Hong Kong Island, 10 in Kowloon and nine in the New Territories.   Of the approved plans, 15 were for apartment and apartment-commercial developments, five were for commercial developments, two were for factory and industrial developments and one was for a community services development.   Consent was given for works to start on nine building projects which will provide 117,013 sq m of gross floor area for domestic use involving 2,755 units and 144,989 sq m for non-domestic use.   Additionally, the department received notification of commencement of superstructure works for five building projects.   The department also issued 17 occupation permits - six on Hong Kong Island, three in Kowloon and eight in the New Territories.   Buildings certified for occupation have 152,580 sq m of gross floor area for domestic use involving 3,178 units and 35,955 sq m for non-domestic use. http://dlvr.it/SlPVD7
