446 COVID-19 cases recorded

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating 446 additional COVID-19 cases, of which 176 were detected by nucleic acid tests and 270 were identified via rapid antigen tests.   Among the new cases, 64 are imported while the rest are locally infected.   Since the onset of the fifth wave of the epidemic, 1,202,007 people have contracted the virus and 9,169 people passed away.   Of the newly reported cases, regarding the bar clusters in Central, Zentral bar registered two more cases and Iron Fairies & J. Boroski recorded three more. While there were 44 additional cases for LINQ bar, Shuffle bar registered a further 27 cases.   Separately, the Government made a restriction-testing declaration to cover Block 6 of Richland Gardens in Kowloon Bay. People in the restricted area are required to undergo compulsory testing before the specified deadline.   As there were positive sewage test results with relatively high viral loads at Shun Tin Estate in Kwun Tong and Tung Tau (II) Estate in Wong Tai Sin, the Housing Department and the respective district office will distribute COVID-19 rapid test kits to relevant residents as well as cleaning workers and property management staff working there.   For information and health advice on COVID-19, visit the Government’s dedicated webpage.

Come2hk Scheme to open

The quotas under the Come2hk travel scheme will open for application tomorrow.   Under the scheme, non-Hong Kong residents who fulfil specified conditions will be exempted from compulsory quarantine when they come to Hong Kong from Guangdong and Macau.   They can apply for the quota through the online booking system from tomorrow at midnight.   A daily quota of 1,000 each has been set for the Shenzhen Bay Port and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port.   Quotas will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. 520k vaccine doses given

About 520,300 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to the public, with about 466,300 people receiving their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine and about 54,000 people getting their second dose.   About 151,300 people have received the BioNTech vaccine so far.   Around 5,200 people received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine under the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme today.   Among them, some 3,300 people received the jab at eight community vaccination centres (CVCs) while about 1,900 were inoculated at private doctors and clinics participating in the programme.   Around 10,000 people received their second dose of the Sinovac vaccine today, including about 3,700 people vaccinated at CVCs and about 6,300 through private doctors and clinics.   The overall percentage of people who received the Sinovac vaccine at CVCs is about 94%.   As of 8pm, about 3,100 people had reserved their first and second doses of the Sinovac vaccine online in the past 24 hours.   As o
