$8.5m set for Henan flood victims

The Government today approved two funding applications totalling $8.519 million for Plan International Hong Kong and Amity Foundation, Hong Kong to help flood victims in Henan Province.   The money will be used to provide flour, rice, cooking oil and quilts for around 62,800 victims.   The Government said the Disaster Relief Fund Advisory Committee hopes the grants will facilitate the provision of timely aid to the victims and help them restore normal living.   To ensure the money is used properly, the two relief agencies will submit evaluation reports and audited accounts on the use of the grants after the relief projects have been completed.

Come2hk Scheme to open

The quotas under the Come2hk travel scheme will open for application tomorrow.   Under the scheme, non-Hong Kong residents who fulfil specified conditions will be exempted from compulsory quarantine when they come to Hong Kong from Guangdong and Macau.   They can apply for the quota through the online booking system from tomorrow at midnight.   A daily quota of 1,000 each has been set for the Shenzhen Bay Port and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port.   Quotas will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. 520k vaccine doses given

About 520,300 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to the public, with about 466,300 people receiving their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine and about 54,000 people getting their second dose.   About 151,300 people have received the BioNTech vaccine so far.   Around 5,200 people received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine under the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme today.   Among them, some 3,300 people received the jab at eight community vaccination centres (CVCs) while about 1,900 were inoculated at private doctors and clinics participating in the programme.   Around 10,000 people received their second dose of the Sinovac vaccine today, including about 3,700 people vaccinated at CVCs and about 6,300 through private doctors and clinics.   The overall percentage of people who received the Sinovac vaccine at CVCs is about 94%.   As of 8pm, about 3,100 people had reserved their first and second doses of the Sinovac vaccine online in the past 24 hours.   As o
