District Council vacancies gazetted

Three vacant elected seats in the Kowloon City, Tsuen Wan and Sai Kung District Council were gazetted today.   The To Kwa Wan South Constituency seat in Kowloon City became vacant as the Court of First Instance of the High Court ruled on March 25 that elected member Lee Hin-long was not duly elected.   Meanwhile, the seats in Ma Wan Constituency in Tsuen Wan and Kwan Po Constituency in Sai Kung became vacant from April 20 and May 1 following the resignation of elected members Tam Hoi-pong and Lai Ming-chak.

Come2hk Scheme to open

The quotas under the Come2hk travel scheme will open for application tomorrow.   Under the scheme, non-Hong Kong residents who fulfil specified conditions will be exempted from compulsory quarantine when they come to Hong Kong from Guangdong and Macau.   They can apply for the quota through the online booking system from tomorrow at midnight.   A daily quota of 1,000 each has been set for the Shenzhen Bay Port and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port.   Quotas will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The next cycle for quota booking will be open every Wednesday.   Each applicant can apply for the quota with a maximum of three accompanying non-Hong Kong residents.   Applicants must provide their name, gender, date of birth, valid travel document number for entry into Hong Kong, a mobile phone number which can receive SMS on the Mainland or in Macau and a specified entry date and boundary control point.   They must also present valid proof of a neg

1 more resident comes home safely

One more Hong Kong resident who had sought help from the Immigration Department has safely returned to Hong Kong from Thailand, the Security Bureau said today.   The individual concerned came back to the city with the aid of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Chinese Embassy in the Kingdom of Cambodia and the bureau’s dedicated task force.   So far, 16 assistance seekers have safely come home under the task force’s co-ordination.   The bureau urged people to contact the Immigration Department as soon as possible if they know or have received information of victims in need of help.   They may use the WhatsApp hotline 5190 8909, contact the department’s Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit at (852) 1868, call the 1868 hotline by network data via the department’s mobile app or submit an Online Assistance Request Form. http://dlvr.it/SYn0Gl
